This past weekend, our wrestlers journeyed to Chambersburg, PA, for their annual participation in the MyHouse Trojan Wars. We had four wrestlers continue to day two securing three spots on the podium and one in finals.

His tournament journey included a quick fall against Donavan Evans in just 1 minute and 34 seconds during Round 3, followed by a decisive win by decision against Jacob Carr, where he triumphed 10-5 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Shafer continued to shine with a 6-2 decision over Jason Foutz. Although he faced challenging competition in the final match against Royce Wetzler, losing by tech fall with a score of 17-1, Shafer’s performance throughout the tournament showcased his dedication and grit he gives every time he steps on the mat.

2024 3rd Annual Girls Beast of the East

Beast of the East established a girls-only tournament three years ago, aiming to elevate it to the same level as the Boys Beast of the East tournament each year. They are making significant progress toward this goal. This year, the Girls tournament expanded to feature full brackets and two days of wrestling, showcasing girls from various states nationwide, including a strong lineup of nationally ranked competitors. This event allows our wrestlers to step beyond Pennsylvania's competition and challenge themselves against girls from across the country. West sent two representatives for the Whippets: Sienna Landrum, making her third appearance at Beast, and Sarah Pearson, who is debuting at the event.

Sienna Landrum, a senior went 4-1, secured her place on the podium and earned her first Beast of the East medal, finishing in 3rd place.
